Yukari, aged 59, is a Japanese woman who regularly participates in Active Brain Club (as Thinkie is branded in Japan). In this translated interview, she tells us how her brain training experience has made it easier for her to learn new tasks and keep up with younger adults.

Q: What prompted you to start ABC (Active Brain Club), and what was your goal?
A: Recently, I've been forgetting things more often and I'm starting to feel like my brain function is declining.
Q: There are many brain training exercises out there; why did you choose ABC?
A: I was previously hooked on Kawashima-sensei's Brain Training for Nintendo DS, so I thought that since ABC is also a brain training game by Kawashima-sensei, I could continue with it.
Q: How often and when do you train using ABC?
A: I do it almost every day, usually before going to bed.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for prospective ABC users?
A: I think it's important to make it a habit in your daily life, such as setting a dedicated time to train your brain.
Q: What effects have you felt from your regular brain training?
A: I feel like it's easier to learn new tasks, and I think I'm feeling more positive as a result of training using ABC.
Q: How do you plan to keep your brain functioning in the future?
A: Apart from using ABC regularly, I've registered to volunteer as a way to improve my English skills. I want to be able to keep up with younger people!
